Jackknife guitar

In the book “Zombies of the Gene Pool,” Sharyn McCrumb mentions the concept of a “claw hammer banjo player,” but she might be kidding around.

The concept of “jackknife guitar” is difficult to find on-line, but it does exist.  Some years ago, there was an album of jackknife guitar playing available in the Santa Monica Public Library.

You could hear the musical notes, but you could also hear the rasping sound the blade made on the string.  The music was from the West Virgina area as I recall.

This isnt an earth shatteringly important topic, but we do strive to menion topics not found in abundance on the Internets.

Tune in again tomorrow for the newest edition of the Promobabble Report.
